How to setup Static IP Address to Router

A router tends to pick up IP address automatically from the Internet Service Provider (ISP). To setup a static IP address, you need to follow the steps below:
  • Open any browser and type the default IP address of the router in the address bar. You will be asked to enter the default username and password. 
  • The default username is usually admin and default password is password or left blank. 
  • Once you login, you will be directed to the home page of your router admin page. 
  • Here, you need to look for Connection Mode, or Network Setting.
  • Go to Internet Address radio button and click on the box that says Use Static IP Addresses.
  • Enter IP address, IP subnet mask, and the gateway IP address assigned by the ISP. S
  • Click on Apply and your static IP address will be saved.

This is all you need to do to setup a static IP address.
